Lessons to learn?
Aargh... tdy is cold, cold cold, and I've got a lesson later at 7.10-9pm, really the worst thing in the world when it's freezing cold. Can't imagine what will happen in Winter. And there's like a get-together for PS foreign students tdy. Dunno if I wanna go cos they're meeting at 6.30pm, how in the world can I finish my dinner b4 the lesson starts? There are bound to be late-comers, but I've been detached from them cos went back to spore for those few days when they had some gatherings. Feel a bit dumb too cos I'm the only immersion prog, so everyone asked me if it's alright if I fail all my modules. Duh. How can it be alright? It'll be a blow to my ego and confidence, and I didn't come here all the way to waste my parents' money!!??!! Yup, here more for the exposure, and my Dad warned me abt not to be cooped up in my rm studying all the time. Haha, like tt will ever happen. I'm a born slacker. But sometimes I think they don't really take me seriously cos I'm not here for a degree. aargh... to go or not too? Can't miss the nite class cos last wk arrived in beijing late and missed most of it, had a hard time following up. Aw man, what is my aim in coming here?
Actually, lots of the local students here skip lessons like nuts, tt's why some teachers have to resort to taking attendance. Very alike NUS really. But there's no spoon-feeding here, it all depends on what you hear and take down. Txtbks here are regarded differently: here, students really read almost every page. When I go to class, I can see tt there are already underlined notes and whatnot in their txtbks. They read up b4 the lessons. Aw man, we don't do tt. We cramp everything when exam comes and stone during lesson time. Tdy's lesson wasn't tt bad, maybe due to tt i'm getting used to the way they teach. I know, it's only the 3rd week, but I have to adapt or I'll never catch up. Dang.
